Dr Wheatgrass Supershots contain a natural, specially formulated antioxidant-rich extract derived from fresh, young, vital wheatgrass sprouts.

How is the extract derived?

The extract is derived from freshly cut wheatgrass sprouts by our secret ‘Shirusei’ process, under strictly controlled conditions. This process that enables almost 100% retention of bioactives stabilizes the extract, which in turn enables a long (at least two years) shelf life.

Why is it clear and not green?

Our extract, different from juice, is a brownish clear liquid. During production of Dr Wheatgrass Supershots, a touch of natural mandarin flavour is added, which gives the finished product an orange hue. This does not in any way affect its efficacy.

Does it deliver the same health benefits as fresh wheatgrass juice?

Yes, but for different reasons that have already been mentioned above. We believe the most important component in wheatgrass is the ‘Grass Juice Factor’. Healing Effects of Wheatgrass

Clinical and research evidence has revealed the ‘Grass Juice Factor’ to have, probably by the stimulation of human growth factors, a powerful effect on the regeneration of damaged skin and the body in general. The healing effects of wheatgrass are frequently attributed to chlorophyll, but I believe this hypothesis has little or no substance. The wheatgrass extract I use contains a barely detectable amount of chlorophyll, yet has a similar therapeutic profile as observed and recorded in numerous laboratory and clinical studies performed since the 1930’s. What is Wheatgrass Extract?

The only active ingredient in all Dr Wheatgrass products is “Wheatgrass Extract”.

According to a study performed by a group of Indian scientists (Kulkarni et. al.) in 2006, the scientists found antioxidant levels of wheatgrass extract were:

• Highest at the end of the growing period (15 days).
• Up to 30% higher in alcohol-extracted solutions compared with freshly juiced wheatgrass.
• Highest in soil with nutrients.
• Higher than many natural extracts and vegetables.
• Antioxidant level is significantly lower in the wheatgrass tablet compared with both fresh juice and alcohol-extracted solutions.
